
Out of the entire application, this can be considered one of the most stressful days. Don’t worry! We are here to help!
Worried about forgetting things, Leaving home, Packing everything up, living in 1 bedroom, meeting your flatmates and of course leaving your parents.
To begin with Decide when your moving in. Nearer to the time, usually around the Start of September, you will receive an email from Accommodation with a time slot which you are expected to move in within. To help traffic flow around the accommodations, you are given 20 minutes to park, empty the car and move the car on.
When you arrive at your Accommodation make sure you head to key collection pick up your keys. There is helpers around to help move your belongings in and guide you to your room!
Once you have arrived at your accommodation head over to your campus and get registered. This must be done on either Saturday or Sunday – those who don’t register may have your funding from Student Finance Delayed! Not ideal, especially with the start of freshers week Sunday Evening 😉
You will also pick up your library cards at this point!
If you’re moving in on Sunday – make it a quick one, unpack and make sure your ready for the start of your Freshers Week – it all kicks off with a UV Welcome Rave at Second Bridge. Start the week as you mean to go on. The perfect opportunity to meet your life-long friends and really get to know your flat mates!

Some of essentials and some are not. Some may sound weird but helpful, such as…..A potato peeler!….
1. Duvet, duvet cover, sheets, mattress protector (take a few of each)
16. Clothes horse (or another variation of the word depending on where you are from!)
17. Stationery and books
18. Clothes basket
19. Ear plugs. Prepare for a few sleepless nights…
20. Medicine (paracetamol is a Fresher’s must)
7. Toilet rolls
8. Baking trays
9. Tuppaware
10. Tea bags (an ESSENTIAL!)
